Learn and Grow - Three Business Tips
It might seem an odd thing to say "There's no such thing as failing in business" but there isn't. I'm not talking about businesses failing but about people saying "I'm failing at this" or "It's all going wrong" or "I'm not good at this"... it's all not true. Why?
It's often called a "business journey", you know where you want to go but basically the business GPS is broken so you are having to work out the route as you go - this may mean you go off course, get a bit lost or even go down a dead end and have to do a three-point turn to get back out - but that is OK, it's part of the journey and it's what you learn that matters.
The goal posts move - what you want when you start isn't necessarily going to be what you want 5, 10, 15 years down the line, and again, that is OK, you aren't going to be the same person 5, 10, 15 years down the line and neither are your customers or the market.
You don't know what it is that you don't know, sometimes you will be making it up as you go along, or frantically googling how to do something or deciding you need to call in an expert to help you - everyone in business has been there and done that and if they say otherwise, chances are they are lying! It's OK to not know it all - no one expects you to - apart from you.
So, cut yourself some slack, be kind to yourself and remember - it's what you learn along the way that matters.
