How I Invested in Myself — and the Money Came Back Unexpectedly!

We often think of money as something we must constantly chase or control — a resource that’s always slipping through our fingers. But what if money could also be a reflection of trust, energy, and alignment?

In this blog, I’m sharing a personal story — one that shifted how I view money, self-worth, and spiritual abundance. Whether you’re a business owner, freelancer, or woman rebuilding your financial confidence, I hope this speaks to a part of you that’s been quietly wondering: Can I really trust money to come back?

The Season I Was In

A while ago, I was in a season where things felt tight. Business was steady, but cash flow was unpredictable. And on top of that, I had family responsibilities, studies, and the usual expenses that come with running both a business and a household.

Still, something inside me said: “You need to invest in yourself.”

So I did.I paid for a spiritual brand assessment that aligned with my vision. It wasn’t cheap, and honestly, I hesitated. My logical brain was like: “You could use this money elsewhere.”

But deep down, I knew that growth would require a shift — not just in my knowledge, but in my relationship with money.

When the Return Came…

Here’s the wild part: A week after making that payment, something came through — a free opportunity , a client referral AND an unexpected payment. I didn’t ask for it.It just happened.

That was my moment of realization:

💡 Money responds to movement.

When we tell the universe — or ourselves — that we’re worth the investment, it echoes that back. Not always immediately. Not always in the way we expect. But it does return.

My Shift in Money Mindset

Most people see money as purely transactional. But I’ve learned to see it as relational.

It reflects how safe we feel, how much we trust ourselves, how much we believe we’re worthy.

For me, investing in myself wasn’t just about learning something new.It was about breaking old stories — the ones that said:

  • “Money is hard to come by.”

  • “You need to suffer to earn.”

  • “You have to sacrifice everything to be seen as responsible.”

When I shifted that mindset, I started attracting different opportunities — not because I was “lucky,” but because I was in alignment.

What This Means for You

If you’re holding back on investing in yourself — whether it’s education, your business, your healing — I want you to ask:

Am I saying I’m not worth it?

Am I trusting that money will come back?

I’m not saying go spend recklessly. I’m saying: pause and reflect.

Here are some practical tips to start shifting your money mindset:

  1. Track your money without shame. Awareness is the first step to power.

  2. Name the story. Ask: What do I believe about money — and where did that belief come from?

  3. Practice gratitude and generosity. Give even a little, but give with an open hand.

  4. Say no to financial martyrdom. You don’t need to suffer or overextend yourself to prove your worth.

  5. Invest in something meaningful — even small. Show yourself that you matter now, not later.

Journal Prompts to Deepen Your Reflection

Grab a notebook or open a quiet space in your mind, and ask yourself:

  • What’s my first memory of money?

  • What belief about money keeps showing up in my life?

  • How do I feel when I spend money on myself?

  • What would change if I trusted money to return?

  • In what ways am I already abundant that I don’t acknowledge?

A Spiritual Reminder

💫 Money is a test of trust. It’s a mirror of our inner world — our attachment, our fears, and our faith. When we clutch it tightly out of fear, we can block the very flow we desire.

Sometimes, money arrives not when we hustle harder, but when we surrender — when we release the grip and act from a place of trust.

A spiritual action you can try:

Before you spend or invest, place your hand over your heart and say:

“I choose to spend this money with trust, alignment, and purpose. I know that what I give will return multiplied in the right time, in the right way.”

This isn't superstition. It’s sacred intention.

Final Thoughts

This is just the beginning of the kind of work I’ll be sharing — because managing money isn’t just about spreadsheets and tax returns. It’s about your mindset, your beliefs, your blocks, your breakthroughs… and your spiritual alignment.

If this resonated with you, I’d love to hear from you. What part of this story reflected your own?
